What this page is
This is where a RideFinder driver turns SMS ride alert texts on or off. Ride alerts are courtesy texts telling a driver that a matching ride post exists on the board. Riders are never sent texts on this program, and nothing about creating an account, posting, or browsing requires them.
The control itself is part of a signed in driver account, so it appears on this page only after you sign in.
The two ways consent works
- In your account
- Sign in below and check the SMS ride alert box on this page. That records consent for the mobile number on your account, in one step.
- By text message
- Reply JOIN. You will receive a message asking you to confirm. Reply YES within 24 hours to complete opt in and begin receiving alerts.
Replying STOP to any RideFinder text turns the alerts off immediately, whether or not you sign in here.

SMS ride alerts
You are signed in, and your account is a rider account. SMS ride alerts are for driver accounts only, so there is nothing to manage here. RideFinder does not send SMS messages of any kind to riders.

SMS ride alerts
Replying STOP to any RideFinder text has the same effect as clearing this box. Both take effect immediately, and you can turn the alerts back on here at any time.
Turning alerts on by text instead
You do not have to use this page. The same consent can be given from your phone, and that path always takes two steps.
- Reply JOIN.
- You will receive a message asking you to confirm.
- Reply YES within 24 hours to complete opt in and begin receiving alerts.
A driver who texts JOIN and never replies YES gets no alerts and is treated as opted out.
